March 3 marked the second anniversary of the opening of the Stanislaus State University Student Center. Hosted by the Student Center, which worked closely with Stan State Associated Students Inc. (ASI), the event featured a host of student activities and giveaways to mark the special occasion.
Organizers saw the festivities as a way to celebrate students returning to campus after two years of COVID-19 restrictions.
“This year, I’m very excited to have students return to campus and finally meet some of the board members who serve us students,” said Irlanda Vela, Student Government Coordinator.
Housing and Student Life Board Angie Maghinay was thrilled at the opportunity to engage students now that in-person classes have resumed.
“I’m just thrilled to see students back on campus as well and to see student engagement coming back,” she said.
Students who participated in the birthday party activities received a tote bag and gifts from six student center stations, including the ASI and student center offices, the student center service office , the student bookstore, the professional and professional development center and the conference rooms. Each stop also featured opportunities for spin and win prizes or other activity.
All participants who completed the tasks were entered into a raffle and received a voucher for a free slice of pizza from the Warrior Grill, which will officially reopen on Monday, March 7.
