Homer Vallejo selected to oversee new Kendall campus student center

Homer Vallejo has been named director of the New Student Center at Kendall Campus. He begins his new position on August 30.

Vallejo, 33, will oversee the recruitment, testing and international student services departments. He served as director of recruitment at North Campus for the past six months and prior to that, he was Senior Associate at North Campus since 2019.

“I hope to be an effective leader for the team and promote a sense of growth and achievement for students and employees,” Vallejo said.

Prior to joining the College, Vallejo served four years in various capacities at Lindenwood University in St. Louis, Missouri, including as a wrestling coach and undergraduate admissions counselor.

Vallejo previously worked as an interventionist for the Miami Dade County Public Schools Migrant Program and as a program coordinator for the Mexican-American Council, a nonprofit organization that focuses on college readiness for college students. immigrants.

In 2010, he graduated from the University of Miami with a bachelor’s degree in sports administration and earned his master’s degree in education from Lindenwood University seven years later.
