It’s lunchtime and you’ve just come out of your classes and decide to head to the Student Center for lunch. Waiting in the ridiculously long line chick-wire-a, you look to your right and see a small purple stand near the lumberyard. Therein lies Twiggy’s Burgers, a new dining option that opened this fall. But is the burger worth your money? Certainly.
Not only does Twiggy’s Burgers have a delicious dining option, but it also offers the newly implemented meal swap option for those on the dining plan. Students have the option to swap a meal for an Original Burger with fries and a drink or the Disco Fries which are topped with bacon, friendly onions and queso.
My best recommendations have to go to the Disco Fries and the Korean Flame Burger, which is a pepper jack cheeseburger with kimchi, fried onion, Pico de Gallo and gojuchang sauce. The Korean Flame burger is perfect for those who like their burgers with a little spice. For a truly Texan burger, there’s no problem with the Hays Co. Burger which includes bacon, fried onions, barbecue sauce and gojuchang sauce.
Not only is this a refreshing new restaurant amid the huge shopping chains, it’s also the only burger place on campus. SFA was in desperate need of a new chain as you can only eat a limited number of chicken sandwiches and pizzas before it starts to get repetitive. With the inclusion of Twiggy’s Burgers, you can have delicious new and refreshing dishes.
Ultimately, Twiggy’s Burgers has my whole recommendation as a overlooked Student Center restaurant. So the next time you consider your choices in the 30-minute queue for chick-wire-a, visit Twiggy’s and try their unique selection of burgers and fries.
