Mr. Seth Kwafo from the Regional Maritime University (RMU) won the Kasapreko Excellence Award for the best engineering graduate student.
Mr. Kwafo, who was voted the top student in B.Sc. Electrical/Electronic Engineering, received a cash award from GH? 2000, a laptop computer, a commemorative plaque and will undertake his national service with Kasapreko Company Limited.
Speaking at the school’s 16th congregation in Accra, Mr Kwafo was delighted to have won the Kasapreko award as he seeks to excel in the business during his term of service.
“I am very happy to win the Kasapreko Excellence Award and would like to thank the company for giving me the opportunity to work with them. I am already looking forward to making an impact on the company and I hope that I will be maintained after my service,” he said.
Mr. Solomon Owusu Bonnah, HR Manager at Kasapreko Ghana Limited, said the partnership with RMU aims to bridge the academic and industrial gap by providing students with the opportunity to put their learning into practice.

Dr Isaac Animah, head of the marine engineering department at RMU, said the excellence award was key to promoting healthy learning competition among students as they vied for the ultimate prize.
“We would like to thank the management and staff of Kasapreko for instituting this award and for giving students the opportunity to put into practice what they have learned in school. This award of excellence will inspire students to be serious about their studies as we seek to bring out the best engineers in the country who contribute to the development of the country, and I hope that this relationship between the two institutions will be long-lasting,” a- he declared.
Top electrical students from various technical universities including Sunyani Technical University, Takoradi Technical University and others have all benefited from the Kasapreko Excellence Award and more are expected to be awarded soon.
