This collaboration, an industry first, will see SMART Technologies apply its expertise in interactivity and engagement to Kooth’s clinically proven mental wellness content and activities, and integrate it into the digital learning from SMART, Lumio™. In doing so, SMART will be able to provide teachers with easily available and digitally engaging lessons centered on mental wellness, connecting more educators and learners to Kooth’s resources and community. This includes making Kooth’s integrated platform available – currently available to over 20,000 schools across the UK – in North Americatoo.
The partnership comes at a pivotal time to support student mental wellbeing, with CDC data showing that rates of anxiety, depression and substance abuse continue to rise. UK, data from NHS Digital finds that one in six children aged 6-16 in the UK now have a probable mental disorder, up from one in nine in 2017. The importance of an integrated approach to early education and health support mental has never been greater.
